- Announcing tkHTML-2.0!
-
- What is tkHTML?
- tkHTML is a tcl/tk-based HTML document editor for X11. It has almost all
- the standard edittign features of a word processing feature, as well as
- special functions for editing HTML documents. TkHTML also has WYSIWYG
- previewing, so you can see what your document will look like, as you work.
-
- What's new in 2.0?
- TkHTML 1.* was written using the XF application builder. It was decided that it
- would be easier to maintain and have more funcitonality if written by-hand,
- so it was done. Doing it by hand also allowed it to integrate some wonderful
- widgets (Tix, by Ioi Kim Lam), which have drastically improved the usability
- of tkHTML. I've ssince fixed many many bugs and added as many of the features
- that users wanted (see the ChangeLog).
-
- Where can I get it?
- TkHTML is available at the home distribution site:
-
- ftp.u.washington.edu:/public/roland/tkHTML
-
- or on a mirror at:
-
- sunsite.unc.edu:/pub/packages/infosystems/WWW/tools/editing/unix/tkhtml
-
-
- What do I need to run tkHTML?
- Because TkHTML uses tcl/tk, you will need to have both of these suites
- installed. TkHTML also needs the wwwish tk interpreter instead of the
- standard wish interpreter to uses the WYSIWYG previewing (source available
- at above sites).
-
- For more information:
- You may paruse the tkHTML home page, at:
-
- http://alfred1.u.washington.edu:8080/~roland/tkHTML/tkHTML.html
-
- or email the autthor directly at roland@cac.washington.edu. A screen shot of
- tkHTML 'in action' will be available from the FTP site shortly.
-
- Please note, that because this is a major revision upgrade, there will be a
- some bugs and errors, if you find any, please forward them along to me, and
- I'll fix them for 2.1.
